Melbourne Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu – Training Report

 Training Report

This week at Melbourne Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, our team has been focusing on chaining fundamental movements together to build stronger positional awareness and smoother transitions.

🔗 Movement Chains We’re Developing

The students have been working on connecting:

  • Mount escape

  • Double under pass

  • Recompose to mount

  • Bridge (high) → throw (low)

  • Hip bump sweep

  • Additional foundational transitions

Rather than practicing techniques in isolation, we are emphasizing flow — understanding how one movement naturally leads to the next. This is helping students improve their reaction time, confidence, and problem-solving during live drills.

📈 Progress & Team Development

The team is learning quickly and showing strong retention of the sequences. It’s great to see them beginning to anticipate the next step instead of pausing between movements.

There has been a bit of talking at times — but that’s a positive sign. It shows the students are engaged, enjoying the work, and building friendships while training. We’ll continue encouraging focus during instruction while maintaining the fun and supportive environment that makes our team special.

🥋 Overall

Excellent progress this week. The foundations are getting stronger, transitions are becoming smoother, and team morale is high.

Well done, everyone! 👏
